Become a Hawaiian Cowboy for a Day
at the Piiholo Ranch

Become a Hawaiian Cowboy for a Day! The Piiholo Ranch began as the dream of Peter Baldwin, a 5th generation descendant of the Reverend Dwight Baldwin, a missionary who came to Maui in the 1830’s. Pete’s love of the outdoors led him to establish Piiholo Ranch with the help of his three sons Jeff, Duke, and Chris.

With plenty of wide open ranges for horseback riding, ziplining, hiking, and panoramic views, Maui Horseback Riding at Piiholo ranch offers a traditional authentic Hawaiian paniolo cowboy adventure. Upcountry Maui’s premiere Maui Horseback Riding experience at the historic Piiholo Ranch is located on the edge of the rainforest 2,000 feet above the beautiful blue Pacific Ocean.

While enjoying your Maui horseback riding adventure, you will experience being a part of a working cattle ranch, learning about the many native plants and indigenous Hawaiian trees that line the property, and watching out for colorful forest birds. You can see the endangered Hawaiian Nene goose at the preserve and nursery established on the Ranch.

Piiholo Ranch also offers a Helicopter Ranch Experience. Your Hawaiian Ranch Adventure starts at your resort. We will pick you up in one of our luxury vehicles for a brief ground tour of Central Maui before your transfer to Kahului heliport, where you will check-in for an aerial tour of the island. We will return to your resort by luxury ground tour. Available in reverse with ground tour to activity sight and helicopter departure with aerial tour, landing at Kahului Heliport followed by ground transfer back to your resort. Light snacks and catered lunch at the Hailiimaile General Store provided. The Piiholo Ranch Headquarters is your final destination on the ride, where your limo driver will be waiting to take you back to your Hotel.

The Piiholo Ranch also features several ziplines and treetop tours. With rolling meadows, deep gulches and a high hill overlooking the spectacular scenery of the island of Maui, this particular area is the perfect setting for a world-class zipline adventure.
